Michael Werder studied law in Berlin and Berne. During his time as assistant at the chair for Public and Commercial Law at the University of Berne, he received his doctorate for his dissertation “Property and Constitutional Change”. Michael Werder was admitted to the bar in Zurich in 1978.
After commencing his career at a large law firm in Zurich, Michael Werder established his own law firm some 30 years ago. Since then he has worked on major restructuring and liquidation mandates. He also acted for the interests of creditors in the cases of Ornapress, Papierfabrik Biber, Von Roll, Swissair, Erb-Gruppe and Swisslog. In addition, Michael Werder possesses comprehensive expert knowledge through his representation of injured parties, particularly with respect to banks and asset managers.
