Expertise

The core work of Matthias Bürge lies in Swiss and international transactions (company acquisitions and disposals, restructuring). He also has extensive experience in advising both banks and borrowers in connection with complex acquisition financing (structured finance). Matthias Bürge advises on all areas of corporate law, contract law, debt recovery and insolvency law. He also represents his clients in court and before administrative authorities in these fields.

Career

Matthias Bürge studied at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, and received his law degree in 1995.

From 1995 to 1999, he held various positions at the District Court of Zurich, last as court clerk with special assignments and substitute judge. While working at the court, Matthias Bürge was admitted to the bar in 1998.

In early 2000, he joined a large Zurich commercial law firm and worked for them until the end of 2020, first as an associate and since 2008 as a partner. In 2001/2002, he completed post graduate studies at New York University and graduated with a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree.

Since the beginning of 2021, Matthias Bürge has been a partner in our firm.
